Sarah Jeffrey: "My body will not be a tomb for other creatures."
Disney’s fantasy film Descendants star Sarah Jeffrey announced last week that she has gone vegan. “My body will not be a tomb for other creatures,” Jeffrey said in a post on her Instagram account before announcing, “I've proudly become a vegan.” The 20-year-old actress—who also currently stars in NBC’s police drama Shades of Blue–urged her nearly 360,000 followers to, “Educate yourselves on what you are eating and how animals are treated in the meat and dairy industry,” adding, “it will change your mind on everything.” Social media platforms such as Instagram have been credited for driving the increase in young people choosing to go vegan. Other young Hollywood stars such as director Kevin Smith’s daughter Harley Quinn Smith and social media influencers such as DJ sensation Dillon Rupp and makeup artist Carli Bybel have all recently announced their commitment to veganism.
