Craig Robinson is looking for a vegan birthday cake and cooking carrot and farro salad to achieve his goal of ditching animal products.
Actor Craig Robinson—known for his role as quick-witted Darryl Philbin on The Office—is currently transitioning to a vegan diet. “I’m learning the ways of the vegan,” Robinson said on a recent episode of The View. “I’ve been pushing away from meat and dairy lately, but yeah, that’s one of my goals.” Robinson then revealed he was in search of the perfect vegan cake for his birthday on October 25. Co-host Sunny Hostin responded with skepticism to the idea of vegan cake—which was quickly remedied on a subsequent episode by comedian Jon Stewart and his vegan wife Tracey, who sent The View vegan cake from Pennsylvania-based Vegan Treats to prove Hostin wrong. Robinson also recently appeared on The Chew, where he cooked a vegan roasted carrot and farro salad with Iron Chef Michael Symon—who last month added the vegan Impossible Burger to his Detroit-based fast-casual eatery B Spot Burgers. “I’m learning and I’m loving it,” Robinson said on the show. “So many great things going on in the vegan world."
