The famed comedian has given up meat with the help of fellow comedian Steve Harvey, who suggested he try Tofurky for Thanksgiving.
On a recent episode of the Rachael Ray Show, comedian Tyler Perry discussed his decision to stop eating meat this holiday season. “We’re in a weird place ’cause mom is vegan, and I just stopped eating meat,” Perry said. “But there is something called Tofurky, tofu turkey, that we’re going to try and see if that works out.” Prior to his appearance on the program, Perry visited fellow comedian Steve Harvey on his eponymously named show, in which Harvey suggested that Perry try Tofurky to replace turkey for Thanksgiving. “Shut up, Steve!” Perry said. “You’re kidding me? Tofurky? There’s really tofurky.” Since the show, Perry has embraced the idea of the meat alternative and revealed that his partner Gelila Bekele is vegan.
