The Factory Farming Awareness Coalition honored the media company at its year-end gala.
Non-profit Factory Farming Awareness Coalition (FFAC) presented VegNews with a certificate of appreciation at its year-end gala held in San Francisco last weekend. Katie Cantrell, FFAC’s Executive Director thanked VegNews for “showcasing the ease and delight of vegan living and motivating countless people to adopt a healthier, more compassionate lifestyle.” Vegan food at the sold-out event was provided by Berkeley-based eatery The Butcher’s Son, vegan cheese brand Miyoko’s Kitchen, and vegan-friendly diner Saturn Cafe. The gala featured a silent auction with apparel provided by vegan companies such as New York’s Vaute Couture, Portland’s The Herbivore Clothing Company, Connecticut's Compassion Company, and more. Jasmin Singer, VegNews’ Senior Editor, was the special guest speaker for the evening and focused her speech on the importance of the individual in creating social change.
