Cruelty-free fashion brand HoodLamb announces its spring line complete with James Dean-inspired unisex jackets.
Amsterdam-based vegan fashion brand HoodLamb debuted last week its spring/summer 2018 line, which includes a James Dean-inspired jacket ($119) for men and women that features a hemp-based twill shell, soft cotton-based sateen lining, and secret pockets. “We were inspired by James Dean for his timeless sense of style: simplicity with an edge,” HoodLamb creative director Aisha Thompson told VegNews. “More than anything, his refusal to compromise on his ideals, which led to his rebellious image, became infused in his clothing. HoodLamb fights a similar fight with equal passion—to make better clothes and a better world —by integrating and promoting hemp as our essential ingredient. We are rebels, but with a cause.” This year’s line also include a t-shirt made in partnership with vegan ocean-conservation organization Sea Shepherd to which HoodLamb donates a percentage of its proceeds. Last year, HoodLamb launched its line of vegan parkas in the United States complete with faux fur-lined hoods made with the company’s proprietary material Satifur.
