Kat Von D's Vegan Shoe Line to Debut this Year

News

The vegan makeup mogul's 28-style, Italian-made luxe shoe line will include faux-fur moon boots.

Vegan activist/makeup mogul/tattoo artist Kat Von D will launch vegan shoe brand Von D Shoes this year. The line will feature 28 styles—including flats, sky-high platforms, sneakers, boots, slip-ons, creepers, winklepickers, and faux-fur moon boots—made in Italy using high-quality, animal-free materials. Von D previewed three styles on Instagram this week: the “destroyer” (an open-toe platform with a comfort strap), the “skeletal” (a open-toe vegan patent crocodile-leather pump adorned with a rouge interior and a hand-sculpted metal bone), and the “candy apple” (a patent leather concealed platform with monochrome hardware). “I’ve worked extremely hard at making my shoes as accessible as possible without sacrificing the quality and design,” Von D said. “These are luxe vegan shoes that will last a lifetime and will make your feet look and feel beautiful. So while they will be affordable, they won’t be as cheap as Payless.” The line—which Von D assures will feature unisex styles in shoe sizes 5 through 12—will be available for international shipping. In addition to the shoe line, Von D is veganizing her existing makeup brand Kat Von D Beauty and released 40 vegan lipstick shades last month.
