British brand The Coconut Collaborative debuts its coconut-based yogurts and desserts at Wegmans.
New vegan yogurt and dessert line The Coconut Collaborative debuted this week in the United States. The United Kingdom-based line features coconut-based yogurt sweetened with natural sugars in three flavors: Natural, Blueberry, and Mango & Passionfruit. The brand also offers dessert pudding Paradise Pots made with coconut cream in two flavors: Lemon Ganache and Chocolate. Identical twin brothers Edward and James Averdieck founded the company in 2014 as a healthier and more eco-friendly alternative to dairy-based yogurt. “We felt there's a real gap in the US market for great tasting, plant-based yogurts and desserts which feel indulgent but aren't packed full of sugar," Edward Averdieck said. “We think you really can have the best of both worlds. Our yogurts and desserts combine great taste with a deliciously thick and creamy texture as well as all the healthy benefits of coconut.” The Coconut Collaborative partners with organization Pur Project to plant thousands of coconut trees annually in southeast Asia to assure that surrounding communities are earning sustainable incomes. The line is currently available at Wegmans stores and select New York City retailers.
