PG Tips Creates New Tea Aimed at Vegan Consumers

News

The nearly 90-year-old tea brand formulated a new blend that pairs perfectly with plant-based milk.

On March 5, United Kingdom-based iconic tea brand PG Tips will debut two new tea flavors—The Tasty Decaf and Perfect with Dairy-Free. The Unilever-owned company specifically formulated the latter tea flavor to be blended with dairy-free alternatives to meet customer demand. “When the PG tips team spoke to tea drinkers and heard that they weren’t able to get their hands on a great-tasting decaf cuppa (sic), nor a tasty cuppa (sic) if they drink dairy alternatives, the PG tips master tea blender, Joyce, got hard to work,” the company said. “She tasted teas from over 20 origins in hundreds of different combinations. The result: two new truly tasty teas.” Last year, British consumer analysts added vegan milk to the UK’s symbolic “shopping basket,” as non-dairy beverages continue to be a top trend across the country.
