Whole Foods Partners with Vegan Meal Delivery Service

News

Purple Carrot meal kits will now be available at Whole Foods Markets in the North Atlantic region.

Whole Foods Market has partnered with plant-based meal delivery service Purple Carrot to bring vegan meal kits to customers. Starting today at the market’s flagship Dedham, MA location, three kits—complete with recipes and portioned-out ingredients—will be available in the grab-and-go section. Varieties will include Mongolian Seitan Stir Fry, Pan Seared Tofu and Black Rice Noodles, and Cashew Korma with Cauliflower Rice. “We are thrilled to team up with Whole Foods Market’s North Atlantic region to enrich the grocery shopping experience and make it easier for people to cook delicious plant-based meals at home,” Purple Carrot CEO and founder Andy Levitt says. The company was initially founded in 2014 with the help of New York Times columnist Mark Bittman, who has since left the company and secured a $5 million investment in July from Windsail Capital. Vice President of Purchasing for Whole Foods Market North Atlantic region Kimberly Rose says the partnership will give busy customers new choices in their pursuit to eat well. The kits will be available for $19.99.
