RZA's Vegan Apparel Goes on Display at SF Museum

A collection of vegan apparel from famed Wu-Tang Clan member RZA is on display at the Asian Art Museum, marking the museum's first ever collaboration with a fashion line.

A fashion exhibit featuring works created by Wu-Tang Clan Member RZA is currently on display at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. The exhibit—which includes embroidered jackets, hats printed with the Wu-Tang logo, upcycled denim shirts, and vegan-leather wallets printed with traditional Chinese-style seals from the artist's 36 Chambers brand—marks the first time a fashion line has been on display at the museum. “Our collection spans 6,000 years, countless cultures,” Asian Art Museum director Jay Xu said, “and has inspired generations of artists—including the stylish folks from 36 Chambers. We are delighted that they found creative new ways to share their passion for Asian art through the universal language of fashion.” RZA launched the bi-fold “Debossed Vegan Leather Wallet” on the 36 Chambers website last year and vowed to remove all animal products from his fashion line by the end of the year. The collection launched at the museum last Friday and select pieces will be available for viewing (and purchase) through the holiday season.
