Trade group Plant Based Food Association welcomes 10 leading investment groups to help advance the vegan revolution.
Trade group Plant Based Food Association (PBFA) announced this week an initiative to create a coalition of investment firms interested in supporting plant-based businesses. The group is now comprised of 10 founding investment firms, including New Crop Capital (an investor in vegan cheese brand Miyoko's Kitchen), Lyra Growth Partners (created by plant-based nutrition company Vega founder Charles Chang), and Blue Horizon (an investor in fish-free seafood company Ocean Hugger Foods). “As investors in Next Level Burger and other plant-based food businesses,” Nicole Brodeur, another founding investment member, said, “we believe a food revolution is underway. The collective work the PBFA is doing is essential to helping that revolution succeed.” According to PBFA executive director Michele Simon, the group will have access to industry data and introductions to early-stage startups, and join PBFA’s network of member companies, affiliates, and advisors to move the food industry in the plant-based direction.
