Harvey Nichols stores across the UK now serve upscale vegan dishes and wines at its seven locations.
United Kingdom-based luxury department store chain Harvey Nichols will add vegan menus to its in-store restaurant locations. “We’re going vegan for 2018, and our menus have never been more delicious,” the store announced on its website. “This isn’t rabbit food we’re serving up; these dishes are the same standard of indulgent, mouth-watering flavours that you’d expect from us, only they happen to be completely vegan.” The new dishes will vary across all seven Harvey Nichols locations and include artichoke risotto, red Thai curry, grilled tofu with miso, and desserts such as chocolate sponge cake and soy milk-based rice pudding, along with a selection of vegan wines. To introduce the new menu launch, the store will host a vegan dinner at its flagship Knightsbridge location that will be prepared by Instagram star and vegan chef Gaz Oakley—known as the “Avant-Garde Vegan” on social media. The event will be held January 23—ahead of the debut of the chef’s cookbook Vegan 100 on January 25—and will feature a complimentary welcome drink and a five-course menu consisting of dishes such as an arancini ball appetizer, “fillet steak” Wellington, Camden Ale batter “fish” and chips, and a selection of desserts and vegan wines.
